Election Results Are (Mostly) In

The 2020 election is behind us, and the results, at least most of them, are in.
Beyond the White House, this election cycle was a big one for the state’s political landscape. Voters went “blue” in the presidential race but “red” in the majority of state House and Senate races. Both parties claim victories in the state row offices.
Incumbent Josh Shapiro (D) won a second term as Attorney General, while Republican Timothy DeFoor will be the state’s next Auditor General and Republican Stacy Garrity defeated incumbent Pennsylvania Treasurer Joe Torsella for the office.
The Commonwealth’s Republicans defied some prognosticators’ pre-election rumblings and will keep the majority in the General Assembly’s House and Senate. Control of the legislative chambers is key to determining what legislation moves or stays stuck in committee. PCCJR will seek to engage Republican leaders in support of moving COVID liability protection legislation early in the new legislative session.
Thanks to everyone who informed their vote and shared the PCCJR’s 2020 Voter’s Guide!
